Donald Hying, bishop of the Diocese of Madison, reflected on the damage legal abortion has done to the United States Thursday.

“This past week reveals how profoundly 50 years of legal abortion have distorted moral conscience, poisoned our culture, reduced innate respect for human life and divided our country,” he said on Twitter.

That decay in moral conscience goes along with the loss of human potential, as more than 63,000,000 American babies were aborted, according to data from the Guttmacher Institute, while Roe v. Wade was in effect, Fox News reported.

Another indication of the lack of moral fiber has been illustrated by the violence related to the ruling. After the draft opinion on Roe v. Wade was leaked, pro-abortion radicals attacked and vandalized at least 48 churches, pregnancy centers, and other pro-life organizations, according to an Aleteia report.

"We dumped red paint over the entryways and left messages of ‘If abortions aren’t safe, then neither are you,’ ‘Abort the church,’ and ‘God loves abortion,' Puget Sound Anarchists said as they vandalized a Catholic church in May, according to the report. “We are not appealing to state power for an end to patriarchal violence, but threatening: ‘If abortions aren’t safe, then neither are you.’”

More violence, unfortunately, seems likely.

"Now the leash is off. And we will make it as hard as possible for your campaign of oppression to continue,” Jane’s Revenge, a radical pro-abortion group linked to Antifa, said in a June 14 letter, according to townhall.com. “We have demonstrated in the past month how easy and fun it is to attack. We are versatile, we are mercurial, and we answer (only to) ourselves. We promised to take increasingly drastic measures against oppressive infrastructures. Rest assured that we will, and those measures may not come in the form of something so easily cleaned up as fire and graffiti.”

Lila Rose, founder of Live Action, shared her frustration with the violence.

"Pro-abortion extremists hate women so much and love abortion so much, that they will even destroy the pro-bono centers supporting young mothers with free diapers, formula, medical care and parenting classes,” Rose tweeted. “This is what today's "pro-choice" movement has become. Shameful.”
