Although only 330 students are enrolled at the St. Maria Goretti Catholic School in Madison, compared to 405 students last year, some parents are optimistic about the school's future and have shared their opinions.

Jennifer Leicht said, "In our four school years at St. Maria Goretti Catholic School, I have always appreciated the love, care and excellent education the teachers have provided to my children, and this year is no different. My children are receiving an outstanding academic education in a Catholic environment, where they are developing a love for their faith and respect for others. Each year, including this year, my children have been excited to go to school each day, and that's a testament in itself."

Being a Catholic elementary school, St. Maria Goretti focuses on bringing the message of Christ closer to the children. It not only has high academic standards, but it also strives to offer its students prayer and worship experiences.

Hannah and Jay Falley said, "When our child comes home each day with a smile and endless stories, we know we've picked the right school to call home. We love hearing our first grader pray new prayers, share stories of sweet friendships being formed, and how his teacher has helped him work through learning to read! We are off to an amazing 2021-2022 school year! Thank you SMG!"

St. Maria Goretti is among the top 20% of the largest Catholic schools in the state of Wisconsin. Its tuition fee of $2,285.

Kristin Preisler said, "I don't think we ever felt super worried, in the midst of people pulling their children away from school."

The school is named after Maria Goretti, who died at age 11 and became youngest saint in the Church.
