The U.S. News & World Report has included St. Norbert College among the top 100 national liberal art colleges on its social mobility rankings.
St. Norbert College tied for 87th place on the rankings list, according to a press release from the college.
"Social mobility measures how well schools graduated students who received Pell Grants," the college said in the press release.
This means it comes from households with an income that is less than $50,000 annually.
“We appreciate this recognition and are proud to be among the nation’s best liberal arts colleges,” St. Norbert President Brian Bruess said in the college press release. “It’s our mission to graduate outstanding citizens who make a difference in the lives of others.”
While many students with economic disadvantages aren't as likely to complete college, many colleges advance social mobility to help disadvantaged students.
"For the second consecutive year, U.S. News published a distinct social-mobility ranking for all schools. The social-mobility ranking is computed from two ranking factors assessing graduation rates of Pell-awarded students," the college said in the press release.
