In its second year publishing a social-mobility ranking for all colleges and universities in the country, U.S. News and World Report has named St. Norbert College to the top 100 national liberal arts colleges for social mobility.

The social mobility ranking is derived from two factors related to graduation rates of Pell Grant-awarded students, according to a St. Norbert College news release. Most students receiving the grant have an annual family income under $20,000 and to be eligible their family income must be no more than $50,000.

“We appreciate this recognition and are proud to be among the nation’s best liberal arts colleges,” St. Norbert President Brian Bruess said in the release. “It’s our mission to graduate outstanding citizens who make a difference in the lives of others.”

St. Norbert, which tied for 87th place in the ranking, is the only Norbertine college in the world, according to the release. The college was founded in 1898, became co-educational in 1952 and now offers a four-year Catholic education to approximately 2,000 undergraduate and graduate students from across the country and around the world.
