Kayla Sergent facilitated a conversation about her research on Women’s Leadership in a Crisis earlier this month, a release issued on the Edgewood College website said.
Sergent, an assistant professor of management at the college, spoke about the importance of reliable and dependable leadership during a crisis, such as COVID0-19. Her research discovered that people often look to women for leadership and guidance instead of men during times of crisis.
Other female leaders in the political, education and nonprofit fields also spoke at the Sept. 10 event and shared their thoughts on what makes a solid leader during times of uncertainty. The event was free to the public and gave attendees a chance to ask the panel questions.
Other panelists included: Victoria Palmisano, associate dean of Business, Communication and Innovation at Edgewood College; Kelda Roys, who won the primary for Wisconsin’s 26th District state senator; Renee Moe, president and CEO of United Way of Dane County; and Michele Kaiser, assembly general supervisor at John Deere Engine Work.
