Wisconsin Right to Life (RTL) is encouraging Catholics to support pro-life candidates in Tuesday’s primary election.

“So much is at stake in the upcoming election, and we can't afford to lose our pro-life majority in the Wisconsin legislature,” the group posted on Facebook recently. “Do your part to ensure pro-life candidates win this fall by making sure you don't fall prey to these common mistakes!”

Wisconsin RTL offered several tips to voters to help them optimize support for the pro-life movement. Those tips include such advice as refraining from bashing other pro-life candidates, not supporting candidates who can't win, and not expecting candidates to always articulate their position on abortion perfectly.

The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) describes participating in political life as a moral obligation. The Church encourages the faithful to be active citizens who use their votes to help shape a world that defends human life and promotes peace.

Right to Life (RTL) is an organization dedicated to defending the lives of the unborn through education and legislation, the national group’s website said. There are more than 3,000 local RTL chapters in addition to 50 statewide affiliates and the national federation.
