The Archdiocese of Milwaukee is hosting a free series of lectures each Saturday during Black History Month, aimed to celebrate the month and lift up Black members of the community.
The Archdiocese of Milwaukee announced this Saturday’s lecture topic, People of African Descent in Dialogue: Bridging the Cultural Divide, in a Feb. 16 Facebook post.
“People of African Descent in Dialogue: Bridging the Cultural Divide is this Saturday's lecture (February 19). The free Saturday series is from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at All Saints Catholic Church Hall in Milwaukee, WI,” the Archdiocese of Milwaukee wrote on Facebook.
The series of discussions is presented by the Office of Black Catholic and Ethnic Ministries, alongside the Black Catholic Ministry Commission of the Archdiocese of Milwaukee. Saturday discussions have been held throughout the month on Feb. 5, 12, 19 and continuing Feb. 26.
The Saturday events are free of charge. A continental breakfast and refreshments will be provided, the website states.
According to the Archdiocese of Milwaukee website, the Archdiocese of Milwaukee's Black Catholic Ministry Commission is dedicated to nurturing the spiritual, educational and cultural well-being of people of African descent. Members of the commission work with the director for intercultural ministries to articulate the needs and hopes of Black Catholics in the Archdiocese and to advance the implementation of national and local Black Catholic pastoral plans.
