The Mass of Remembrance for St. John XXIII Catholic Parish in Port Washington, Wisconsin was closed to the public this year, with attendance only permitted by way of a YouTube livestream, which can still be viewed online.
Pastor Patrick Wendt recently wrote to the congregation with an added personal element regarding the Mass of Remembrance, as he thanked parishioners for their prayers for his mother, family and himself.
“Your support at our time of loss is greatly appreciated by me and my brothers and sisters,” Wendt wrote to the congregation.
Beyond the Mass of Remembrance, loved ones who have passed are also being remembered in prayer throughout the month of November, with their names entered into the Book of Remembrance, Wendt wrote.
“We hope that having your loved one remembered this way will be a source of comfort for those who are grieving a loss,” Wendt wrote to the congregation in his message.
