When Lisa Sutton saw the Unite Our Nation website and how it was connecting a Eucharistic procession with a Coast to Coast Rosary rally, she decided to give it a try for Fond du Lac.

Thus far, she says, planning for the Sunday, Oct. 11 event is on track and progressing smoothly.

“I just want to bring Jesus Christ alive in our community,” Sutton told the Catholic Tribune. “We are saying no to Jesus so much that everything is failing because we're trying to live life without him. I'm hoping to spark a little fire in anyone's heart who chooses to take that light and make their life better with it.”

The Fond du Lac procession is among about 30 planned nationwide, including in Kenosha, Wisconsin, on Sunday, Oct. 4; Detroit on Saturday, Oct. 31; Steubenville, Ohio, on Saturday, Oct. 3; Little Rock, Arkansas on Saturday, Oct. 17; and Atlanta on Saturday, Nov. 7.

“It's just all about prayer and being Christ-focused to know the will of the Lord in your everyday life and for the election,” said Sutton who is organizing the event.

Sponsored by Holy Family Catholic Community, Knight of Columbus Fond du Lac, North Fond du Lac Councils, Fond du Lac Women of ENDOW and Morality in Media, the walk will start at 1:15 p.m. at St. Mary's Church on East Merrill Street, proceed eight to nine blocks and end at Veterans Memorial Park.

“I’m hoping that people who see us will take a moment to pray and thank God for the gifts that they have and grow strength and momentum to make the right choice for the election,” Sutton said. “I hope they will pray to do the will of the Lord. We can't really do that without prayer. I want everyone to pray about it.”

The rosary will begin at 1:45 p.m. followed by guest speaker Father Edward Sanchez at 2:15 p.m. and the benediction at 2:30 p.m.
