After working 19 years at Franklin College in Franklin, Indiana, Keri Alioto has joined Mount Mary University as the new vice president for Student Affairs.
Alioto was the associate vice president for Student Development and dean of Student Success at Franklin College, a release issued on the university's website said. She also created the position of dean of Student Success in the Office of the Provost. Alioto worked for Franklin College since 2001, when she held the position of director of Student Activities and Organizations.
"Keri is a creator and visionary leader," the university said in the release. "At Franklin she created the Office of Diversity and Inclusion; the Center for Student Involvement; and HamOne, a one-stop student success and academic support environment occupying the first floor of the college’s historic library. She also led the efforts for re-imagining the entire co-curricular experience focusing on sense of belonging and initiating traditions that became a cornerstone of the student experience. Her creative impulses and her broad experience brought significant experience to the college’s most recent strategic planning process, which led to her outstanding leadership in the most comprehensive curricular reform in the college’s history."
Alioto also managed the student involvement team at Franklin College, in addition to the center for student success, where she was a chief retention officer.
She has many other accomplishments while working at Franklin College, one of which being her variety of responsibilities in residence life, conduct, Greek life and other student organizations. She was also involved with crisis response, casework, Title IX, first-year advising and many other programs, the release stated.
Alioto holds a bachelor degree in journalism and Spanish from Ball State University. She also has a Master of Science degree in student affairs administration from Indiana University. She is currently in the Doctor of Education Program in higher education at Northern Illinois University.
