St. Raphael the Archangel Catholic Church in Oshkosh shared a brief note from the pastor in its Aug. 23 bulletin.
In a world where there are so many opinions swirling around, the voice of God is the one that should be listened to, the Rev. Tom Long said in the note.
“God is the One who is able to keep us grounded, who is able to lead us to Truth, who is able to give us what we need, especially in His Word and in the Eucharist,” Long said.
St. Teresa of Avila composed a prayer 500 years ago that is especially fitting during this time.
“Let nothing disturb you. Let nothing upset you. Everything changes. God alone is unchanging. With patience all things are possible. Whoever has God lacks nothing. God alone is enough,” the prayer said.
Fr. Long encouraged his parishioners to take some time to read and reflect on this prayer, remembering that speaking with God allows Him to calm their fears.
