Roncalli Newman Catholic Parish issued the following announcement on Aug. 9

The Solemnity of the Assumption Mary in Heaven is August 15th. This year the feast falls on a Saturday and is NOT considered a Holy Day of Obligation. The 5:00 PM Mass on August 15th is actually the Vigil Mass for the 20th Sunday in Ordinary Time, but you can expect at least one Marian Hymn for the Sunday liturgies. Our campus minister Adele Gligorevic will lead a walking rosary after the 5:00 PM in honor of the solemnity.
