Christ King Catholic Parish in Wauwatosa's Director of Youth Ministry, Sarah Daszczuk, encouraged parishioners to seek Christ through a "spiritual roadmap" that appears in the Aug. 2 weekly bulletin.

“Many have described the spiritual life as a journey,” Daszczuk wrote. “So, imagine you’re planning a road trip. Before you leave, you need to decide on a budget, transportation and lodging. But first, you need to decide where you’re going. On our road map, 'seek' is the first step because it points you to your destination by giving you space to explore the Gospel, encounter Christ and respond to His invitation.”

One opportunity to seek is the Alpha/Alpha Youth event, which allows anyone from the general public to walk into the space and feel comfortable while learning about the Gospel, no matter their religious affiliation.

“Even devout Catholics sometimes need to take a step back and be reminded of the simplicity of the Gospel message. Last year we had many dedicated parishioners go through Alpha who found it warm and familiar – like putting on your favorite cozy sweatshirt,” Daszczuk wrote.

She went on to give ways in which parishioners can seek in their everyday lives; starting with finding Jesus every day with prayer and reading the Bible. 

“Scripture is a constant reminder that the Gospel message is good, joyful and inspiring; and it’s a great way to hear the voice of God in my life,” wrote Daszczuk. 

She ended with providing ways that members can help others seek Christ, one of the key ways being inviting them to Alpha, which offers a short video, dinner and fellowship with others who are also looking to seek and find Christ.
