Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Madison announced in a recent weekly bulletin that a group of women sorted food into boxes for area food pantries at the Community Action Coalition’s newest site.

“We worked hard and had a ton of fun,” the announcement read. “We were done in a little over two hours emptying barrels of food from a food drive.”

Additionally, a group of high school students helped package donated diapers that will be distributed to clients of the food pantries. On average, babies go through 18 diapers a day, the item said.

“Queen of Peace donors, your contributions of diapers toward our fundraising efforts are truly appreciated,” the announcement said. “Between all of the drive-through food and pantry items, [we] can honestly say Queen of Peace Community shares their blessings with those who are less fortunate. Your generosity doesn’t go unnoticed.”
