All Saints Catholic Church in Berlin has found a way to host its annual chicken dinner despite having to cancel this year's festival due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The parish decided to offer the traditional Poy Sippi Fire Department chicken dinner with all the fixings for either takeout with curbside pickup or delivery. Dinners are $15 for adults and $7 for children.
Tickets can be bought at the church or school office, Ladybug Floral, Fortifi Bank and Farmers & Merchants Bank. Each adult ticket will be entered into a drawing for a 55-inch Samsung Smart TV, while the children have a chance to win a Razor E100 Electric Scooter.
Both prizes were provided by the Holy Name Society. Winners will be drawn after the dinner.
There are a limited number of dinners, so organizers suggest you purchase tickets in advance.
There will also be an online silent auction raffle. Those who want to participate will be able to check out the raffle baskets online on both the Parish website and the church's Facebook page.
All Saints is looking for volunteers to help with baking pies or preparing the dinner. The parish anticipates needing 100 pies and 20 baskets of chicken. Pie tins will be available for those who want to bake.
Later this summer, All Saints plans to host a Virtual Bingo and Big Ticket Raffle Drawing. Packets of those tickets can be picked up at the chicken dinner, or anytime after that at either the church or school.
