The Holy Name of Jesus Parish in Wausau will hold “Chalk Fest” on July 10 and 11, according to the church website.

“Use the creativity God gave you to decorate our parking lot,” the invitation says.

The event is a chance for parishioners to enjoy a creative, free activity during the COVID-19 pandemic, the website said. Drawing starts at 1 p.m. on Friday the 10th and will last until dark. On Saturday, the fun begins at 9 a.m. and will last until noon.

The parking lot will be marked off for social distancing so that the artists are safe. Spots are limited, so call Kathy Oelke at 715-359-8274 to reserve one.

If you just want to see the art after it’s completed you can stop by Saturday from 12:30 to 3 PM. The rain date is the following Friday and Saturday, July 17-18.
