Auxiliary Bishop James Schuerman of the Archdiocese of Milwaukee devoted his June 21 weekly reflection to the celebration of Fathers Day.
He thanked the fathers in the archdiocese for being good role models to all of the children in their lives. Schuerman also thanked the fathers for the love and support that they show their children as they guide them through their lives, and he said that he prayed for blessings for all the fathers.
Schuerman then addressed the message of the Gospel. He said that Jesus reflected the sacred mission of fathers by providing encouragement to his disciples.

Jesus was supporting his disciples in their mission to help to cure the sick, expel demons and also with the important task of “the proclamation of the kingdom of Heaven.”
“Not two sparrows sold for a small coin, yet not one of them falls to the ground without your father's knowledge,” Schuerman said in the homily, which aired on YouTube.
