The St. Francis School Gala has moved to a virtual format due to health concerns.

Like many events, the 2020 St. Francis School Gala, “Glory Days: St. Francis Through the Decades” changed formats to become a virtual event because of COVID-19.

The gala committee, faced with the responsibility of providing a safe and healthy environment, posted on the school's Facebook page that they decided an online event was safest for the community.

The event, which was scheduled for May 16, will now be from May 12 to May 16 on the school’s website. Given the length of days the event will take place the committee hopes the new forum will allow more time for family, friends and alumni to catch up and reminisce.

Canceling the gala did not seem like an option because of the financial implications involved. It funds several vital programs, which is why the committee opted to proceed with the event. The committee hopes the school’s supporters and alumni will provide support with a financial contribution during the virtual celebration.

The school invited all to attend and join in celebrating the school during a time when it is needed.

“We hope that you, your relatives, and your friends stay healthy and we thank you very much for your support,” the school posted on Facebook.
